Show Your Face 2012

“I paint self-portraits because I am so often alone, because I am the person I know best.” Frida Kahlo (1907 – 1954)

VV provides a platform for emerging female fine artists as they are a highly underrepresented and an often over-looked group.

Our 2012 members showcase exhibition was therefore centred on the theme-the self portrait. In so doing we curated a show that was not only breathtakingly beautiful; but which also examined the way in which female artists perceive themselves, and the darker undertones therein.
